Building today for the womenhood of tomorrow

Every year Women’s Day comes and goes with some sort of celebrations in the corporate world. As an urban woman, I always question myself, is it really a big deal being a woman? Closely observing the society strata, our current generations have very well accepted the biological and physical aspect of the so called being a WOMAN!

There are many ways and innumerable reasons for women to honor and embrace all that they are. In the rural society, the need for women empowerment is crucial. So, I keep asking myself a question, what as a woman should I be contributing to? Where can a woman-of-today contribute? Can I be a better support for my maids and help?

My today’s dialogue is with myself, and the other urban women like me. The amount of stability and support received from the society today needs to be further extended towards other fragile elements of the society.

And when any individual woman chooses to do so, all women collectively move closer to becoming what they are truly capable of being. By valuing her experience and being willing to share it with others— both male and female—she teaches as she learns.

In short, the thoughts of starting the celebration of women’s day probably with thoughtful ways to uplift overall society , in contrast today’s scenario in corporate world and media sensitive society focused on exchanging gifts, cutting cakes, dedicated awards for women and Identifying excellence within a specific gender is restricting the wide horizon of human race.

Knowledge, intellect is never limited to a gender, today’s women must come ahead and completely become barrier free. It is the synergy between all gender that gives desired results to the overall society to grow together.

Tables have definitely turned with efforts from men (fathers, brother, husbands) due to which women are standing tall intellectually as well as physically.

Holding hands with family, friends and co-workers, in a shared journey of life, a woman of today now allows everyone to see the self-respect she possesses and also willingly accepts their respect- that is offered through support, affection, effort and action.

So, it’s a celebration not an isolation- but as a team. International Men’s Day is celebrated in moderation as compared to Women’s day. Why the buzz always around women?

Does she love to be celebrated more? Yes. Then as a woman, has she become attention seeking? Does she love being pampered? Again, the answer is Yes! Believing in herself, a woman learns to recognize the honor of all women around. Today’s women including me must evolve differently and come up with ideas to support and uplift the surrounding in whichever way possible, it could be through support to rural India, the climate, animals, poverty, women or men problems etc. Not necessarily being a social cause- It can be as simple as having a good human value.

Woman today should be able to celebrate the many aspects that make her worthy of praise, be able to express boldly and proudly her intellect, her emotions, and leading the way with her experience.

Past more than two decades that I have spent in construction industry, it’s been wonderful journey to work with both men & women. So many experiences, experiments, exposures, excellences- my journey of life has revolved around either my professional life or personal life. And that inspires to celebrate a more human life, rather than as a Woman.

One of the biggest celebrations of being a Woman has always been giving birth to a life. A woman is able to see her body as a temple, appreciating its feminine form and function. She enjoys all that it brings to her experience and appreciate other women and their experiences as well.

Makes me feel absolutely blessed that God chose me to carry this in my life time. And am also blessed by the ecstatic professional journey where so many ideas were conceived and delivered in the form of projects.

With its ever-changing lights, colors and various shapes that represents unlimited views, opportunities, let’s look at our life as a Human contributing to the Closing my thoughts with my own art work.
