IIT Bombay Auditorium

Hall of Distinction: A Timeless Space for Celebration and Innovation

The Convocation Hall at IIT Bombay is a masterpiece that merges architectural brilliance with academic prestige. Designed by Kanvinde and Rai and inaugurated in 1985, its iconic dome has long represented the institution’s commitment to excellence. Following a transformative renovation, the hall now fuses cutting-edge technology with timeless design, elevating its role as both a ceremonial space and a dynamic platform for intellectual exchange. The grand dome, with its expansive interior, offers a versatile environment that accommodates up to 1,500 guests for events ranging from lectures and performances to graduations. Modern MEP systems, sophisticated lighting, and updated landscaping blend seamlessly with the hall's original elegance, ensuring it remains as inspiring as it is functional. This reimagined space not only celebrates architectural innovation but also serves as a vibrant hub where education, culture, and creativity converge.
